And that&#8217;s where the challenge really begins: <strong>avoiding a greater environmental impact, managing hazardous waste and ensuring safe decontamination<\/strong>. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>At Femevi, these types of situations are part of our daily routine, and we believe that sharing them helps companies and environmental managers to better understand the importance of acting quickly and with solid technical criteria.<\/p>\n\n<p>This article is created to clearly explain how we approach a real case, the dismantling and decontamination of a boat sunk in Sant Feliu de Gu\u00edxols last October, and what lessons can also be applied to industry and any company that wants to manage its waste responsibly.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:39px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer is-style-default\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-30bdc0258d32e9fe0d5b118fc67991a4\" style=\"color:#0e169a;font-size:20px\">When a sunken boat becomes an environmental risk<\/h2>\n\n<p>In October, a boat was completely submerged in the port of Sant Feliu de Gu\u00edxols. Each environment, port, factory, deposit or tank; requires a specific approach. <br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Removal of hazardous waste: <br\/><\/strong>We extract and segregate all polluting waste: fuels, oils, sludge and solids. <br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Deep cleaning and decontamination: <br\/><\/strong>We carry out a technical cleaning to ensure that all materials are free of contamination.<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Controlled dismantling of the structure: <br\/><\/strong>We dismantle the boat safely and orderly, classifying each material for its corresponding recovery or treatment.
