This week at Femevi, we carried out a cleaning and extraction operation of gray and black water on board the Arctic Sunrise ship<\/strong>, of the environmental organization Greenpeace<\/strong>, while it was docked at the Port of Vilanova i la Geltr\u00fa.<\/p>\n\n

A technical intervention, discreet, but essential for safety and respect for the environment. And, as often happens with essential services, they are often invisible… but they have a direct and real impact. <\/p>\n\n

The action consisted of the collection and safe management of wastewater<\/strong> generated on board \u2014both black water (from toilets) and gray water (showers, sinks and kitchens)\u2014 through a hermetic suction system and transport in an approved tanker to our authorized plant for proper treatment.<\/p>\n\n

These waters are stored in internal tanks that must be emptied and managed periodically, especially in vessels committed to sustainability such as those of Greenpeace.<\/p>\n\n

How did we act from Femevi?<\/h3>\n\n

  1. Prior inspection<\/strong> of the access system to the tanks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Secure connection<\/strong> of the extraction hoses to the hermetic tank system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Controlled suction<\/strong> of wastewater, avoiding any spillage into the port.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Transport in approved tanker<\/strong> to authorized treatment plant.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

    The entire operation was carried out with certified technical equipment and specialized personnel, following strict environmental safety protocols.<\/p>\n\n
