Last Wednesday, January 8, Femevi, a Grup Recumas company specializing in waste management, received a visit from deputies Joan Canadell i Bruguera and Josep Maria Cervera, along with the mayor of Vilamalla, Albert Ramos. The delegation, which also included company collaborators, had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the waste management processes carried out at Femevi’s facilities in Vilamalla.
During the tour of the plant, the institutional representatives were able to see how Femevi not only treats waste responsibly but also actively works to transform it into valuable resources for other industries. This approach puts the principles of the circular economy into practice, reducing environmental impact and promoting a more sustainable model for future generations.
One of the highlights of the day was the presentation of what Femevi has underway: obtaining a biogas enhancer significantly more efficient than conventional ones derived from pig slurry. This initiative reinforces the company’s commitment to innovation in the waste sector.
In addition, Femevi’s role in the treatment of contaminated water and hazardous aqueous waste was highlighted, a specialty that significantly contributes to minimizing the environmental risks associated with these types of waste.
During the visit, a common concern was also raised: the increase in procedures and bureaucracy affecting the waste management sector. Femevi’s representatives emphasized how this increasingly complex administrative burden is hindering processes and delaying the agility needed to implement effective solutions. In this regard, a constructive debate was opened with the deputies and the mayor to find ways to simplify procedures without compromising environmental standards.
The day served to highlight the work that Femevi carries out and to exchange ideas with the deputies and the mayor on how to improve waste management processes in the territory. All attendees agreed to emphasize the importance of promoting more sustainable and innovative models to face current environmental challenges.
Femevi continues to demonstrate that the future lies in turning waste into opportunities and consolidating a greener and more responsible production system, while demanding policies that facilitate this path.
