At Femevi, we have been taking care of the environment for more than 20 years with specialized solutions in industrial cleaning and waste management. And if there is one thing we know well, it is that water is a resource too valuable to waste.
For this reason, from our plant in Vilamalla, we have a liquid waste treatment system based on evaporation and centrifugation, a technology that not only allows us to treat complex waste, but also to recover water to give it a second life.
What does it mean to treat liquid waste with evaporation and centrifugation?
Many times, the liquid waste we manage has a high concentration of water mixed with contaminants: oils, salts, chemicals or industrial cleaning remains. Our mission is to separate the contaminating waste from the water, and we do it in two stages:
- Evaporation: we heat the liquid so that the water evaporates, leaving the contaminants behind. Then, the steam condenses and turns back into clean water.
- Centrifugation: we separate the solids and heavier particles from the liquid by centrifugal force.
The result is doubly beneficial: controlled waste and recovered water that can be reused in other industrial or cleaning processes.
What type of liquid waste do we treat at Femevi?
Our state-of-the-art plant is prepared to treat very diverse liquid waste. These are some of the most common:
- Bilge water (Marpol): coming from boats, these waters contain hydrocarbons and oils. Our process allows us to separate and treat the waste, recovering water suitable for new uses.
- Oily water: common in industrial and machinery maintenance environments. By means of centrifugation and evaporation, we eliminate the oils and facilitate efficient treatment.
- Saline water: although they contain high levels of salt, thanks to evaporation we can concentrate the salts and reuse the water in closed systems.
- Washing tank water: in many industries, cleaning processes generate wastewater loaded with chemical products. Our treatment allows us to recover the water and safely manage the remains.
Why is this type of treatment important?
Because in a context of drought and climate change, every drop counts. By recovering water from liquid waste, we contribute to:
- Reducing the consumption of drinking water in industrial processes
- Minimizing the environmental impact of waste
- Complying with increasingly demanding environmental regulations
In addition, this type of treatment helps companies improve their operational efficiency, reducing management costs and resource consumption.
A commitment to sustainability
From Vilamalla, our commitment to the environment goes beyond waste treatment: we want to be part of the solution. We are committed to technological innovation, the circularity of resources and shared responsibility with our customers.
If you are part of a company that generates industrial wastewater or are linked to the maritime sector, count on Femevi. We can help you treat this waste safely, efficiently and with the least possible environmental impact.
